Horned Creatures of the Goddess Moon

Today was the 1st group Bhava Spiritual Mission meeting for my group. I couldn’t be more over the moon about this amazing group of women! Today someone referred to me as an elder and it felt like the most precious gift. I wrapped it tenderly and placed it in my heart.
As we were leaving I noticed a young buck that was limping. The joint in its front right leg looked swollen and possibly dislocated. It broke my heart as with each step, I could see the wince of sharp pain move through its body. I hate seeing an animal in the wild injured as I desperately want to ease their discomfort and feel helpless that I can’t.
And then from the corner of my eye, I saw another young buck and then another deer and another. There were 10 of them in total and they allowed me to get fairly close. Here in the picture, I was only able to capture 6 of the 10.
It felt like another gift from Spirit and I was in awe.
These wonderfully enchanting horned creatures are sacred to the Goddess of the Moon, Artemis (Diana in latin). Artemis was believed to love them so much that she kept having one as her close companion. Artemis is a solitary Goddess who loved being alone in the Woods with her beloved animals and trees.
As a spirit animal, deer, stags, and bucks represent an “in between,” a world connecting dreams and wakefulness—the world of intuition. The antlers are said to direct one to a higher awareness, acting like a spiritual antennae and urging us to pay more attention to our inner thoughts and perceptions.
In Welsh traditions, the stag is said to lead seekers deeper into the mysteries of the otherworld, to serve as a messenger or gateway between this world and the next, and to be a symbol of spiritual or cross-dimensional journeying. If one crosses paths with the creature, it is supposed to enhance sensitivity to dreams and their meanings, offering a greater intuition into one’s life and future.
Some say buck sightings are a symbol of change, an invitation to adventure, or perhaps to new paths of creativity. And I loves that these deer appeared to be young. I often feel like I’m just fully beginning this journey even though I’ve been on this path for quite some time.
Deers teach us how to love through time and space between realms with compassion, beauty, love, and grace 🦌
